Faros is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower young refugees and migrants in Greece through education, psychosocial support, and vocational training. One of our main initiatives is Faros School, a non-formal education center designed specifically for refugee and migrant adolescents aged 12 to 19. The school operates from 13:00 to 18:00 on weekdays.
The school program includes Greek and English classes at various levels, computer classes, various workshops (sewing, electronics, carpentry), as well as a life skills class. Students at the school are offered the opportunity to have sessions with a psychologist.
Within the school, the drop-in center operates from 14:00 to 16:00, a space where homework support is provided to children, activities such as sports (ping-pong, badminton) and arts and crafts take place, while children also have the opportunity to play board games, PlayStation, and table football. Snacks and tea are provided.
